School Year Sweet Treats Club: April

Oh Yum! What could be better than a reese's peanut butter cup baked into a cookie, shaped like a cupcake? Turns out, not a whole lot!

When my sister found these at Cookies & Cups, I knew we had to make them for something. They are a combination of all of my favorite things, and are so easy! We whipped up a batch while watching The Voice and were done before Cee-Lo turned around with that creepy white cat!

And seriously, they could not be easier to make. All you need is 2 packages of break and bake cookies (we used 1 chocolate chip and 1 sugar) and 24 reese's peanut butter cups. Let the cookie dough get a little soft while you unwrap the peanut butter cups and line your muffin tins. Then take 2 chunks of cookie dough and wrap them around a reese's (make sure to cover the reese's completely). Pop them into the muffin tin, then bake at 350 for about 15-18 minutes. Be warned, the tops will sink in (kind of a lot) but don't worry, they will still be delish!

Happy April, Rachel!

School Year Sweet Treats Club: March

For sweet treats in March, I got a request to make something without chocolate, so I baked up a batch of little snickerdoodles with an extra surprise - cinnamon chips! I've only been able to find them at Meijer, so I always have to make a special trip to get these little guys. But it's worth it because they're so delicious...

Now onto the bad part... See the little note included in the package...

Well, I might have sent the cookies too late, and now they're just sitting somewhere while Rachel is in Africa. So Rachel, sorry if your cookies have turned to crumbles in the box while you're enjoying spring break in Africa! April will be better...

P.S. Here's the recipe for the cookies - super easy. Just add in some cinnamon chips for an extra bonus!

School Year Sweet Treats Club: February

It's time for the February edition of the Sweet Treats Club (check out the details of the club here).
Since they are my new favorite cookies, I decided to make the Fudgy Brownie Cookies from Pinterest. Yum! (Find them here). These are super tasty, super easy cookies to make. This time, I changed it up a little bit by baking them with whole wheat flour and adding chocolate and peanut butter chips instead of the chocolate chunks. (Delicious either way!) Then I packaged them up with a few chocolate chip cookies, added a sweet little heart note, and sent them off! Happy February!

School Year Sweet Treats Club

Everyone knows college kids like to get packages. And everyone knows those packages are even better if they are filled with homemade treats, right? That's where the idea for the School Year Sweet Treats Club came from.

Actually, it was not my idea. My mom came up with the idea, but you know she won't be the one baking all of the treats! Our friend who goes to school in Maryland just had a birthday, so instead of the usual kind of birthday present, we came up with this fun idea to send a package of homemade goodies each month. Here's what the membership card looked like:

The first treat was a box of cake balls delivered at the birthday celebration.

Stay tuned for next month's sweet treat. Any suggestions for what it should be?
